Happy Wednesday. We finished up week 4 of The Acts Experience from Proverbs 31 Ministries. Wow! What a week. The Lord is so good and good to praise. In week 4, we experienced Acts 14-18. What a ride finishing up Paul and Barnabas' first missionary journey. We experienced conflict resolution from the Jerusalem counsel then on to Paul's second missionary journey.
I love what Pastor Jack Graham said, it fits Paul and Barnabas' mission journey perfectly.
The Church is not an aquarium for believers but a hospital for sinners.
As Paul and Barnabas continue their journey, they are seen going into the synagogues, a place where Rabi's and Jewish men would gather teaching from the Torah. Paul and Barnabas went where the trust of Jesus needed to be preached. What better way than to teach to the teachers themselves. Where they would have rapport being Paul a Rabi himself to have open ears to hear.
We are finally introduced to an unsung group of hero's. Aquila and his wife Priscilla who are the first married apostles in the New Testament. They are somewhat of a spiritual parents to Paul. They are the only ones recorded that Paul accepted provisions from. Likewise we also meat an amazing man of gumption and eloquence, learned, mighty in Scripture, and furverant in spirit; Apollos. Aquila and Priscilla took young Apollos in. Mentored him, taught and corrected him, encouraged him. Aquila and Priscilla did their job for Jesus masterfully!
