We are in week 2 of our Acts Experience. This week we saw the treachery and consequences of Ananias and Sapphira purposeful and premeditated lies to the Holy Spirit and about their shady devotion to the LORD. We moved on to the persecution and ultimate death of bold Stephen before the Sanhedrin. We were also introduced to Saul, the persecutor of the Christian Jews along with his conversion on the road to Damascus.
I felt very heavy on my heart this week about our individual importance to the LORD. We are picked out, drawn out of the multitudes to be individually cared for and sought out by the Creator of the Universe. The ONE who holds all things together holds you individuality as His highest treasure and importance.
Everything that happens to us has a distinct purpose and ramification. We witnessed the testament and boldness of Stephen. It is clear to see a direct correlation between Stephen's boldness and manner of speaking the truth of scripture with how he confronted the Sanhedrin. To the correlation of how Saul would one day speak to the Gentiles.
The Spirit asked me this question this week. How big is your population? For His ways are higher than my ways and His thoughts are more than my thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
Our Calling from God is not just about us. What He asks of us may not make a lick of since but may be the answer to another's deep need.
What a beautiful picture we were given in the study about Philip. "Every Individual is Just as Important as The Collected Multitude". Philip was in the middle a huge revival in Samaria where thousands were being moved by the Spirit. In the midst of his work, Philip was called to go down a desert road to have a personal one-on-one with an Ethiopian eunuch. This is such a wonderful reminder. I am, as you are, just as important to give His full attention too as any and all mankind! Never forget that!
