Whisk egg in a large bowl.
Add all ingredients.
Finally, add the meat.
Knead the mixture into the meat like you would for bread. Be mindful not to squish between your fingers.
Part into equal size balls.
Pat each ball into 1 inch thick patties the size of the palm of your hand. Bigger if you have small hands.
BBQ on the grill to desired doneness.
Melt cheese to bubbling on each burger and place buttered buns on the grill, 1 minute or so.
