*Preheat oven to 350 and
*lay almonds on a pizza stone or a cast iron skillet or a cookie sheet in a single layer. Fresh and/or organic almonds are my favorite but, you can use bagged if you can't get your hands on fresh or organic. Whole, sliced, slivered is really up to you. I prefer slivered cause I make a homemade quinoa cereal...I'll post on that later.
*Once oven is warm, put the almonds in the oven and set a timer for 8 min. Check after this as everyone's ovens are different. Mine takes 10 min.
*Spoon out raw honey, preferably from a farm around you...this helps with allergens double score! If you can't find a farm near you, buy the purest honey you can from your local market. Farm fresh honey has no comparison! The farm near us is kept by a 14 year old very ambitious young man. A huge mason jar is only $12, I buy a lot! I think I am his favorite customer. His Momma runs a dairy farm where I get raw goats and cow milk...yes! Tutorial on how to make raw fresh butter coming after Christmas I hope.
*Cover with as much honey as your taste buds like. Stir. And done! They do clump together as they don't have any nasty anticaking agents like the store bought. I fix this by stirring them ever so often as they cool.
I have to take out one very Beautiful and one very Handsome mooching vultures as I make these. Hands get threatened;) And one ginormous moocher, if he is home, him I have no chance against...sigh... Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think!
