This picture represents a super exciting season in my life. My Lover and I just celebrated our 15 year anniversary. I know that may not sound super exciting to some, but to us it is quite the feet. To give you a hint, I am 32. For those who are new to my life, may I share our story.
It all started at the end of my Lover's senior year of high school. Oh man, was he the best looking, most amazing boy in school! I was best friends with his little brother when I officially met him. I remember he was working at pizza hut and I had been four wheeling and got stuck. Who was the knight in shining armor that came to my rescue? Non other than my Lover. I knew he was the one just two weeks into dating. When he dropped me off at home, I told him I loved him and ran up the stairs to hide my embarrassment;) We were inseparable from the beginning. Little did we know only a few months later, just 3, what was the plan of our future.
That super good looking boy that stole my heart was now to be my husband. And in a short nine months we were to have the most beautiful baby girl the world would ever know! Being married my senior year of high school was an adventure. Hey, I could call in sick for myself when I had morning sickness;) Obviously, we did not have much. That included wedding rings.
It was much to my surprise when my Lover got me a wedding ring for our anniversary. After 15 years I would not get asked if I was engaged all the time ;) The rings are laser etched into a super swamper tire tread. As you get to know us, that will make total sens. I can't even tell you how much I love my ring. I told you he is amazing! Now after two kiddos, 15 years, and multiple states, that boy I married is quite the sexy man and not only my lover but my bestest friend.
These are my scars
At 32, I face my newest scar. A few weeks ago I underwent biopsies on some precarious spots. I have a small tumor that has abnormal cells surrounding it. I am being referred to a Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. I suppose I should back up and let you in on what I am talking about.
"Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
By the age of 25 I had been suffering sever pain. Over 2 years time I was hospitalized for what we thought was a procedure to remove a ovarian cyst. A 45 minute minor surgery ended up being a 3.5 hour abdominal full hysterectomy. They said it was stage IIII Endometrioses, the second worst case they had ever seen. It called for a removal of all reproductive organs and reconstruction of parts of my intestines and scraping of my pelvic bone.
These scars I hold dear. My God's foreknowledge knew what my future held. He saw it good to give us our babies so young:) By 17 and 20 we had both our babies. Sure we may have given up college scholarships to give them life but they are and always will be our miracle babies! My God is Sovereign!
Undergoing multiple procedures and laparoscopic surgeries for unknown intestinal issues. They would find that I am allergic to all yeast, preservatives and gluten sensitive. Along with an inherent blood disorder at which my blood iron level is over 70%, I can not red meat or consume iron. Still, my God hold all things together. I hold dear my scars that prove My God is my anchor.
The first time they found cancer I was 27. An A-typical freckle was removed. Three months later it would return, this time with vengeance. I was now looking at stage II melanoma. They would cut into the same scar and remove a 4 inch by 3/4 inch section on top of my left trapezius.
By 30 I am told that I have herniated C4 through C7 vertebrae's. Now bulging and the start of degenerative arthritis I am in constant pain.
My heart now holds scars. This last April, my daddy was called home to be with our Jesus he loved so much. Daddy overcame his battle to liver failure by walking into the arms of our Savior. Daddy was 60 years old. My God saved him from the pain and suffering, He is so very good!
I tell you all this only in hopes of brining peace and joy to the broken hearted and the down trodden. Ultimately to brag on my God a little;) This is the story of my scars and the peace they bring me by the Sovereignty of my Savior. My scars I hold dear! Circumstances do not control joy. The One who crafted joy, He holds joy. Take delight in Him as He does in you. You are His special treasure!
I can feel it in my body. The sluggish icky not right feeling everywhere. From my muscles to my brain and down to my intestines. BLAH! With the recent uncovering that I may be in the battle against melanoma again, I am on the search for a detox. A detox well over due. Here are my stage 1 findings. Detox Tea.
First thing in the morning hot tea
When I first awake in the morning I will immediately drink 16oz of water that I keep at my bed side. This totally helps my body hydrate first thing in the mornings.
When I'm ready I set my tea pot on to boil and prepare my green tea according to package. I add in a tsp of cranberry concentrate, a cap full of apple cider vinegar, and a squeeze of a lemon. Then I drink it as fast as I can cause it is very tart. About 30 min later, I eat.
Matcha Ceremonial Green Tea. This green tea is among one of the most concentrated. It can be very pricey but only takes a small amount. About .5 tsp in 4oz of hot fresh boiled water. The health benefits of green tea are astounding. Aside from the fat fighting benefits that are commonly known in todays market, this is not my agenda. You can be thin or fit all you want but if the inside of your body isn't healthy than there really is no point. Green tea is infused with catechins. Catechin is a strong antioxidant. Along with other huge benefits, this is my number one reason at this season in my life for using green tea.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar or ACV, not only contains Catechin but it also has very useful for your body. It can alkalize your body or level out the acidity if the alkalization is too high. Having a perfectly balanced alkalize to acid ratio is uber important for your health. Not that's a cool super food! I love this article that explains ACV in better detail, you can find it here. Along with ACV, my next ingredient also promotes the body to alkalize.
Lets just get this out right now, lemons are fantastic! If you use essential oils at all, you already know this. We just learned about this in history actually. The pilgrims on the Mayflower survived the trip without scurvy from the lemon juice they brought on board. Along with alkalizing properties, lemons are super high in vitamin C, an antioxidant which fights the formation of free radicals that cause cancer. Drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning flushes the kidneys and liver and gives them a good start for your day. Plus lemons are super duper yummy! Lemons are my must have ingredient for my green tea detox drink.
Cranberry Concentrate (no sugar just pure organic cranberry) is a little gem. It is very tart but makes you feel so good. After a few times drinking it, it gets better, I promise. Cranberry contains good amounts of salicylic acid. Salicylic acid reduces swelling and increases blood flow. Once thought as a treatment for UTI, it goes way beyond that. the risk of

Hello. Oh I am so excited you are here! I would like to start off with an overview of who I am and what MyLifesTea is all about. Well, I am a bit of a "study-holic", as I like to call it. I just can not get enough of studying! I am drawn to research and knowledge. My daddy was the same way. When I was a little girl I would go with him to the University many times a month while he was doing his Masters Degree. I would sit for hours with him helping with his studies. His professors even let me turn in and would grade my papers.
My love for knowledge was branded in. And so MyLifesTea has been born of the direct chain reaction of those treasured moments with my daddy. As a result, all other areas of my life fall in line with the discipline from study.
From the approach I take with the way I see my health and the steps I took to restore it. The love of the outdoors (I know you will thoroughly enjoy the remote places we travel too). Onward to the draw for homesteading.
All this is tailored through my love for Scripture and the written word. In consequence, I am now being called to homeschool my babies; to train them in their loves. I pray MyLifesTea will be a joy to you. And I invite you to join me weekly so we can share together this expedition of life!
